We are so excited to enter 2024, a milestone year for CAL as we celebrate our 10th anniversary. It has been an incredible 10 years; what started as a dream and vision by our founder Vickie alongside her dog Lilly has led us to be the leaders of animal assisted interventions in schools across the UK. We deliver hundreds of hours of interventions each week to children, helping children learn about their emotions, giving them lifelong strategies and making a huge difference to their emotional wellbeing. We never stand still, we are always looking to improve our services and create more resources to help children and schools, and to continue to be the best at what we do.
As the popularity of introducing dogs into schools has increased, we have proudly led the way to introducing standards and practices with our incredibly successful affiliate school dog training programme across the UK. We have been an inspiration to many who have followed in our footsteps not just in the UK but across the globe too.
We have become a leading authority on AAI in schools, it has been an honour to be invited to be guest speakers at universities, teacher conferences and exhibitions across the country.
We successfully set up our own breeding programme to ensure we train the very best school dogs, bred for their super nature and therapeutic attributes. Our dogs have gone on to be school, therapy and assistance dogs, something we are incredibly proud of.
Community and service is built into our core values, we are always looking at ways to support the most vulnerable in our communities. Over the last 10 years we are so proud to have led an annual Christmas gift appeal which has enabled hundreds of gifts to be given each year. We regularly fundraise and donate food parcels to families as well as providing essentials such as uniform and stationery to those who need it most. This is something that we aim to do even more of moving forward.
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we will be hosting many special events, celebrations and competitions, so keep an eye out for our special announcements across the year.
Canine Assisted Learning is a family business 365 days a year 24 hours a day!!The whole family is involved including the children and even Granny! It is our passion and our mission, we care so much about what we do and why we do it. We are so grateful to those who believed in us from our first vision and to those who have provided so much support and love along the way.
